Ya' know those trailers that cost billions so displaced folks in Louisianna could live in them? Yeah, the same ones many of which sat empty for months? Turns out now they're loaded with formeldahyde (sp?), a deadly carcinogen. Turns out folks in them have been complaining for months about health problems. The complaints were ignored. Now they have to move them back to motels and hotels. More billions. To say nothing of long term health costs and lawsuits. "Brownie yer doin a great job!" | blame?? why does there HAVE to be blame? yes fema f@#*ked up and is poorly run........... however, emergency aid is just that! intended for the short term, not for a life long sustainance. most people who are so inclined should be able to get back on their own feet in a year or two. as far as the campers, i guess those who vacation in them never really notice the ill effects. this, as opposed to living in them full time. i suggest that poor manufacturing of R/V's is neither fema's mistake nor bush's. again i question, WHY does someone HAVE to be to BLAME?? damn, maybe i'll just veg & ask for the government to care for me & my family. cheers! cap'n mick | ||

| I find myself not really giving a dam anymore about the 2005 hurricane victims down in New Orleans. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, was found in testimony after testimony to be totally incompetent in responding to the disaster (in fact his office held back emergency aid when it was needed most). Maybe he is a good guy, but for being able to handle an emergency situation he proved himself to be worthless (do a Google search on him and you will get a million hits.) So what did the idiots down there do when he came up for re-election; they voted him back in! People get the type of government they deserve. By what magic do they think he is going to do a better job next time around? I have donated enough $$$, both directly, and indirectly through higher home owners insurance premiums. The next time around I will give nothing; I do blame the people of New Orleans for voting in a proven incompetent mayor. | ||
