I'll have to say that the recent decision to give illegal aliens ID cards makes me sick to my stomach. last time I checked it was against the law to be in this country illegally. how can New Haven officials even think it is ok and legal to supply these freeloaders with ID cards. they should have rounded every illegal that showed up at the courthouse and shipped them back to where they came from. it is unfair as a hardworking taxpaying CITIZEN to watch a city decide that it is ok to disobey any federal immigration laws and simply do whatever they want with taxpayers money. I guess our president is way to busy to deal with the gross misuse of power in New Haven CT. All I can say is that New Haven was first now who is next on the bandwagon. If this is a start of a trend in our great country then our country needs to open its eyes before its too late. Also, New Haven officials should wake the hell up and look at what they are doing to this country.

And to think if this idiot was the governor he would want the enitre state to have these rediculous ID cards. But in state governement he wouldn"t be able to do what ever the hell he wants. The thing that really got me was when he got on the television and damned the federal government for rounding up all of those illegals the day after his big announcement.

They can't work legally, nor benefit any of the hand outs we give lazyass citizens........I say we put the illegals to work for dirt cheap labor......

I had an instance where the ssa sent a letter stating that 15 of my employees soc sec #'s didnt matchup....come to find out all 15 were illegal...I contacted a lawyer specializing in that field, he told me not to worry, that there is sooo many the INS won't deport them right away anyway and the SSA like illegals because they pay into ss but can never collect any in return, it's very profitable for the ssa to have illgals put in to the system, i did dump a few just as an excuse cuz they sucked,, but eventually all but 2 are gone(husband and wife).....the 2 that stayed are persuing the american dream......they legally has obtained green cards, are trying to make a better life....I guess there are pros and cons to the whole debate....illegals work harder and cheaper.....you'd do it to if your payroll was as high as mine and if labor was your second highest cost, and your customers will not accept price increases.....hell if i knew they were illgals i wouldnt have paid them as much.....hell i'll hire any illegal right now....send em my way.they don't even need to speak the language...I have multi lingual lead people.ok go ahead bash away people...by the time INS catches up, i'll be retired counting the dollars i kept every hour that i had an illegal working.

Honestly the biggest problem is how profitable it is to the Social Security Admin......like i stated above, you deduct from thier wages, send it to ssa, and they never get the extra, and can never collect when they get older....

there is no one to blame but the scum-bags who hire them. they pay them under the table,they aren,t insured liscensed anything. I am a builder and they are now under bidding me out of business.a buisiness i have had for 27yrs.let me tell ya it really sucks. the city of new haven and its fagot mayor should be ashamed of themselves, and i hope one them read this post.if any of you out there employ an illegal then that makes you a piece of crap too.

The problem lies solely on the SSA, The "scum bags" that hire illegals, if they don't pay them under the table, still have to maintain federal and state minimum wages(keeps all competitors on the same playing field), the one being hired must fill out an I-9 which releieves the employer from liability of INS enforcement. It takes the SSA a minimum of 3 years to find invalid SS#. if someone comes into my shop, has some skill on machine work, provides me with I-9, i will hire that person on the spot, and continue to employ that person until such time that a government agency tells me not to, Me submitting the i-9 to the SSA relieves me of any other duty. it also relieves me of "scumbag" status.....

I don't pay anyone under the table, so I am cleared from any INS enforcement. right now i have no illegals......we had an SSA labor audit, all is good.

oh by the way......any above the table employee, even if they are illegal,CAN get medical, dental, life insurance(i know this first hand). They are also covered under workmans comp insurance. If they are terminated are eligible for cobra insurance, But if they go for unemployment, they will get denied....(unemployment compensation does not collect ss funds...that's why they get caught) and don't even get me started on unemplyment.....

It's about friggin time you shut up. Lets continue with the New Haven bashing. Destefano was doing a pretty good job with the downtown area, now he is going to flood the place with illegals and all of theose business are going to be wondering what the hell they got themselves into.

Is that what New Haven wants to be know for, a place for all of the illegals to go so they can get an ID Card. Also, if the are "Undocumented" how the hell can we possible verifiy who they are when we give them their ID? What do we take their word for it? If so maybe we should all go down and get one so we can have duplicate identities.
