Philly Doug, TV's....................the people sucking the welfare system dry need something to do. All this in the hopes that theses people will watch the BS debates full of empty promises, and they will hopefully gain a vote

I can't wait for Hillary to produce her taxes......speaking of taxes.......I noticed a bead of sweat running down her forehead when Russert asked her about that

TVs are just another example of wasteful government spending contributing to the deficit. Trust me, if the people who have analog sets and no cable want TV, they will have TV. We don't need to be paying to advertise that we are giving away free conversion boxes. What an absolute waste of our money.

Dems want universal health care. That is the latest "crisis" they have created to centralize more power in Washington. They have done so well with welfare and social security, can you imagine "the job" they will do to the best health care system on earth?

Socialized medicine, in England you go on a waiting list to see a doctor. See him during his "private" hours with your check book in hand and see him the very day you call. What a joke.

as to the debate, both had their moments. both were caught off-guard as to the next russian president. i had no idea either, but one running for office should be aware. hey, thats what advisors are for. both are for universal health care, like it or not we're gonna' get it shoved down our throats!

as to hillary making her tax return public, her words and body language showed her to be VERY nervous.
should be interesting to see........of course we never will.

hope russert keeps at her. love that bull-dog.........

btw, what if mccain is determined not to be a natural U.S. citizen???

I owe an apology for some of the the remarks I made concerning school teachers. I tend to be an old grumpy man, that is probably living more on memories than fact. There will no be excuses made for the things that I have said as they should have never been said in the first place. It seems that for nearly my entire life I have always had a bad problem of getting my mouth in gear before my brain. Probably as I approached 70 this year, it has become apparent to me that I am just an old fool that never seems to learn from his past mistakes. Again, I did not mean to offend anyone personally and did not think about how many would be offended by my improper words.

scup,
We are all guilty of that now and then. They've always said that two things you shouldn't discuss are politics & religion................

Very easy to get heated over both............

It's all good!!

scup, sorry to see you beaten into submission. your words ring truer than one may think. we taxpayers have been victimized by a system that is rampantly out of control. teaching is an honorable & noble vocation and good teachers are worth their weight in gold, but the system is broken and produces unnecessary costs due to a lot of unfunded mandates and "fat" ( too many admins, asst.admins. & assistants to the assistants, not to mention the "palaces" built as schools here in the northeast) have been the root of the general displeasure of the malcontents.

while your post may have been inciteful it was also just an opinion. opinions are formed from ones experiences and current position in life. the longer one lives the more one's opinions and positions change. natural progression. never apoligize for an opinion! would those who berate you apoligize for their own vocal political opinions?

now.........if my wife were a teacher or ed admin my opinion would be different i'm sure

A little boy wanted $100.00 very badly and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened .Then he decided to write God a letter requesting the $100.00.

When The postal authorities receivedthe letterto God, USA,they decided to send it to thePresident. The president was so amused that heinstructed hissecretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill. The president thought thiswould appear to bea lot ofmoney to a little boy.The little boy was delighted with the$5.00 bill andsat down to write a thank-you note to God,which read:Dear God: Thank you very much forsending themoney. However, I noticed that for somereason you sentitthroughWashington, DC., and those *******s deducted $95.00 in taxes.

Special K,

You are wrong about me being beaten into submission. I am very skilled at giving apologies; Lord knows, I have had more than enough practice in giving them. When I foolishly offend someone, where there is nothing is to be gained by me rattling off my mouth, then an apology is due. I do not allow others to set my standards of conduct. What they would do or would not do matters little to me. I alone am responsible for my words and only I will determine if an apology is warranted. It was warranted in this case. Nevertheless, your kind words are well noted. Somehow, the God given ability of being sensitive to the needs and emotions of others has always eluded me. Just ask my wife! What has mattered to me very much are responses such as yours. Six months ago, I was really down in the dumps because I had looked into my previous years fish logbook and compared it to my then current tog catch. Something was very wrong. Capt Dom took the time to post the words that I should not panic just yet because of the warm water temperatures. Of course, the wise captain not only pulled me out of the doldrums but was right on the money. Then from out of the blue came a private message from Striper Chaser. Somehow this total stranger sensed correctly that I was really depressed about the tog situation and very effectively wrote the words that could have only come from a truly great man. I have never been able to make friends easily, much less of those whom I have never met or will likely ever meet; however, Special K, there are many in this form that make me very glad that I did join and you are one of them.
