poached blackfish

this morning while preparing my well bled blackfish fillets for the freezer i decided to cube a fillet & poach it. after a minute in the boiling water i tossed the fish cubes in some garlic butter & enjoyed a delicious treat.
the firm nature of tautog lends itself well to poaching. probably equally delicious poached in a herbed or chicken stock ......lobster like.

next time i prepare blackfish this way i'll serve over rice with asparagus as an entree........

i enjoy eatin' as much as catchin' ..........cap'n mick
