Have just finished a 2 month stint in carrillo from mid- jan to mid- march and from tamarindo to carrillo the marlin bite was off the charts, a bad day was only 1 marlin and a few sails. the number of released marlin by the local wolfpack of 6 or 7 boats may have exceeded 500 fish per month. releasing 3 marlin a day was commonplace. who knows what next year will hold but I expect the same to happen again in 09. What a pleasure to look at your watch and notice after 15 min of lines out and no bite yet, you think you are probably in the wrong spot but before you can tell the mate you are going to move, a 300 blue drills the short shotgun. we actually could not find a wrong place to fish. | ||
