Golfito - often overlooked

But not for long. Golfito has been one of my favorite places to fish. Not only is there great inshore fishing, but the offshore is spectacular as well.

Capt. Tom Lynskey and his crew bought up the old K&B lodge and marina and built something better - Fish Hook Marina.

Fishing report to follow

"The Marlin in the earlier part of January was like something I don't think many captains get to see too often, if ever. Double digit raises of big Blue Marlin on consecutive days was just unreal, and I do stress BIG. The crazy thing is it looks like its just getting going"

The cool part about it was when the Marlin bite dropped off the latter part of the month the sail bite picked up where they left off, raising 20-30 a day for a good part there.

Then we haven't even gotten to the other guys, Tuna and Dorado. Some of these Dorado have just been some serious monsters. Needless to say, the clients have been dining well.

That's about the best way to describe the fishing in Golfito so far this year. A 700 LB Blue on the 10th. An 800 LB lost that same day. A 900 LB Black on the 31st by our neighbors on the Fishin Off. A few 500 LB Blues on the 3rd and 12th. Double digit Marlin raised on 3rd, 4th and 9th. Sixteen sails on the 14th."
