Eastern CT

Good morning. Seems that things have been quiet on the Eastern side of the State? Curious how folks are doing? Not looking for spots, just curious as to how good of a season folks are having....baits that seen to be working etc.

As for myself, I have only been out twice. Fished the same State Park (let just say a long walk at night) with moderate success. Lot's of small fish and a good variety over the past couple off weekends. I still feeling my through the spot as before this year I have never fished it. Looks to have real good potential.

Fished 7/21 and 7/28 each night roughly 8:00pm - 1:00am
Nice part is that the walk seems to keep most of the crowd away.
Caught blues, bass, and fluke. Blues were all small up to 15". Bass were all small up to 24". One fluke caught each night, biggest was 17".

Everything was caught on natural baits as I was experimenting a bit. Fish were caught fish on eels, mack and squid.

FYI...as I'm new to this board....I'm not sure what the consensus is on naming spots in reports...I personally have no issue with it but every board seems to be a bit different. Don't want to offend anyone on day one!

wether or not you name spots is up to you. nice to see a post in this section. I primarily fish from a boat but on occasion I like to get back to my roots. I would guess that you might be speaking of harkness. I havn't done much surf casting yet this year but i'm on vacation all next week and will definitly be hitting some of my old spots. I know that this time last year the blues were hitting newport RI like crazy. all you had to do would be drive down ocean drive and look for the birds working. I will definitly be scoping out that area again this year.
