Spent a really nice morning out on Assateaque Island friday before the weekend people got down. Set up just north of the Bull-pen got the wife situated and set out three rigs, gulp strip squid on a standard fish finder, gulp seaworm on a hatteras doodle bug fish finder and gulp bloodworm on a red/white doodle bug fish finder. Just at the top of the low tide so i was'nt expecting much but what a great day! Wind SSW 5-7, no bugs clear blue skies not a cloud. Fished bankers hours from 9am -1:30 and caught a kingfish!(whiting in other areas) on the gulp bloodworm!( I hads to use the gulp because i forgot the bunker !!) Seems kind of early for kings.
The water is cold 50-54 but what a great morning! Had to get going to make it to Old Inlet Bait & Tackle tent sale (see my post in mix it up) may get back down there this afternoon on the tide. Got the boat fixed and got some time so some inlet/Ocean work may be in order!
