Whales at Weakapaug

Quite a croud of whalewatchers at the beach. Plenty of schoolies on sat, whales and seals on sun. The motherload of schoolies started up with the change of tide just west of the breachway. I was the fool chasing them on foot from there to town beach and then to misquamicut. Bonnet shores is still red hot. Still some blues, too.

cod from the surf

I have always heard that cod have been caught from the beach. I would love to hear from someone that might have tried it and where. It seems that some are caught in the shallows with the tog but I have a tough time getting motivated in winter to blindly cast bait or metal. I don't know if I'm wishin' or fishin'.
