monmouth beach bass.

Went to monmouth beach new jersey for the weekend to visit my girlfriends parents.was hanging out on the deck on saturday and saw a nice size school of bunker cruising close to the beach.Grabbed my fishing pole i took a snagger and a popper with me.Tried the popper nothing.Put on the snagger and had a few fresh bunker for some night fishing.Headed out around 10 oclock set up the sand spike casted out a fresh chunk and within minutes had a big skate on.this happened a few more times.Casted a chunk out around 11:30 and minutes later my reel was screming. After a 15 minute batttle landed a fat 40 inch bass.Called it a night. woke up sunday and there was a nice blitz of blues happening on the beach,Landed a few and did not feel like running after them on the beach so called it quits. All in all a good fishing weekend.the blues were so close to the beach the lifeguards had to get all the swimmers out of the water.Hopefully tomorrow i'll have picures of the bass.
