Reel suggestion needed

I'm no surf rat but I am setting up a 2 piece that I can leave in my truck. I got the rod but I need a reel. Right now I have a cheepie Diawa on there and the spool wobbles when you reel. What do you guys suggest for the budget minded fisherman? It's a Benny's special 9 foot 15-25lb class rod.

Thanks

Depending on what you are looking to spend and how heavy of line you'd like to use I really enjoy my 10' rod that I paired up with my Okuma. Its pretty smooth, pretty durable, and I think for the quality its priced well. If you shop around in the offseason you could pick one up online for between $50-$70 or during season for about $85-90 depending on the model you want. I purchased my EB50 baitfeeder reel which comes with an extra spool on ebay for $64.79.

I'll ditto the Okuma EB baitfeeder series as well. I have one from quite a few years ago that is still going very strong. They may not be top end, but they do hold up well for surf casting, as long as you wash them throughly after each venture. It's a decent reel, but not too much $$ to leave in the truck.

The Daiwa Laguna is also pretty good for the price I guess it all comes down to how it feels in your hands.... Make sure you check out a few options before you decide to buy

I picked up a nice Okuma Stratus 65 GT from dicks, regular price was $90 but caught a sale and got it for $40.I used it in the surf all season and had zero problems or complaints.A friend of mine that works at Ocean State Tackle in Prov. fishes the baitrunners and loves them.

Hey Bryan.
Didn't see ya mention if your set-up is for pluggin' or slingin' bait.
9'er...I would think pluggin'.
I've had great luck with the Diawa Tournament ss2600.
Have 6 of them on various size rods for plugs, and with an 11' Lami I use for tourneys with small baits.
Excellent reel.
Comes in at 13oz.
Line capacity is great, long cast spool design, superb drag and can be had for $99 or less.

Just me .02
