total chaos at napatree

It was insane carnage!! Went with a friend to the jetty in front of misquamicut club 10-14. I have seen some wild feeding frenzies before, this was something else. All the fish were in knee deep water right in the wash. Mostly blues with some bass mixed in all 10-15 lb. fish. They were hording the baby bunker right up on the beach. The water was boiling, fish were doing somersaults, and they were bustin on whatever I threw. Incredible hopefully this is the beginning of a epic fall season. I wish I had my camera to post some pics, but as usual you never have it when you need it.

Don't you love when that happens? Doesn't seem to matter how young or old you are, that sight always gets your heart pumping.

me and a friend were down at the lighthouse sun night and we hammered them as well. best action was just as the sun started to rise. the guy fishing about 100 yards away was wading and livelining eels in the rocks. he landed the largest striper I have ever seen landed from shore in my life. The 35lb boga was buried (the fish had to be at least 45lbs) and this fish had to be almost 50". wish I could have landed that one.

yea that evening definitely bought out the kid in me, hopefully their will be many more. Is it just me or does it seem like their was an over all shortage of bass this year compared to last along with to many blues?

I haven't really put much time in surf casting this year yet but from what I have done i'll say its about 50/50. the problem with the blues is that you can't get your bait past them and into the stripers.
