There have been several since 1940 (when they started keeping track). Researchers say that the oil from the Florida in 1969 which ran aground and spilled in Buzzards bay off Falmouth can still be found persisting in only 3" of new sediments. Far less oil than what is happening down south, yet they say the effects are still evident even after 40 years.
