Fished OB Tournament for the first time. Had a great trip. Our first fish at 8am day 1 was a mako, but just short of the 7 foot mark and decided to let it go. We thought this was a good sign, but the rest of the day turned into a Blue Dog show. Could not get rid of them and we heard the same from many others. Day 2 we found some cooler water, but still only Blue Dogs. Saw some big ones in our slick. Ended the trip with about 12 Blues and 1 Mako. Nothing to weigh in. Great learning experience as it was my first time sharking and this definitely got me hooked for next year. Have some video, which was a little tough day 2 as the wind started to pick up throughout the day and we did a little rocking and rolling on the water.
To add to the excitement we got the chum bucket in the props day 1 while trying to maneuver around a big blue dog. Luckily it wasn't me jumping in the water, but we had to go for a swim with sharks swimming nearby and a nice slick still a 100 yards or so away. Fortunately no damage and we were good to go.
