For Immediate Release The Fifth Annual Stu Apte Fly Fishing Sailfish Tournament dates have been announced. The dates are 18-24 January 2010. Casa Vieja Lodge is the host and headquarters for this event. Two packages are offered: 1) 18-24 January includes two pre-fishing days and three days of tournament angling - $6115 per angler in teams of two per room/boat. The non-angling companion package is $1555. 2) 19-24 January includes one pre-fishing day and three days of tournament angling - $4785 per angler in teams of two per room/boat. The non-angling companion package is $1350. These packages include: Return airport transfers from Guatemala City to the Lodge; six or five nights accommodations in double occupancy rooms; all meals from dinner on night of arrival to breakfast on day of departure; one or two days pre-fishing and three of sailfishing aboard 37 to 43ft gameboats with captain, two mates, hot lunches and boat beverages; fly tackle is available on each boat (just in case); open bar and awards banquet. | Further information can be obtained from www.stuapteflytournament.com Photos from this year's event: Stu hooked up with #200 Mate Efron aboard the Finest Kind and Stu Apte with his 200th sail caught on fly. Legends meet for the first time - Dale DePriest, Stu Apte & Capt. Ron Hamlin. Ron has tagged over 10,300 fish and released 26,000 pelagics in his career. Of the 26,000 - over 22,000 have been in Guatemala ! Winners of the event: Tim Eshelman, Jeannine Apte, Capt. Chico Alvarenga (Cañaso) and Pete Eshelman. This marks the second year in a row for the Eshelman's victory. | ||
