the land of the dumb

Well once again here on long island the bottom of the gene pool decided to get a little water recreation in late sunday afternoon. Seems three brain dead idiots got into a canoe along with another buddy who was in a single person yak. They managed to paddle a mile out into the long island sound half an hour before dark. Well the canoe flipped and all three went into the water. It took two fire depts and the police helicopter to rescue them. All three survived.

Lucky that every waterfront town has a fire dept trained in water rescue. This time is was the county police with their helicopter on scene in five minutes. Two fire depts on the water in under ten minutes.

There is no billing for fire or rescue services on Long Island. I actually like going to rescue idiots, gets me out of the house. Plus the look on their faces is usually priceless.
