I've been eyeing that damn thing for months now and I am jealous big time...
Please come back with a report on how you like it.

Meanwhile, I'm pinching pennies hoping to get the 797C....

LMAO!!!!!
its a big unit. I dont know where the hell im going to put it.
nobody got this thing in stock.
westmarine had 1 in the california warehouse on friday. when we went there on saturday it was already sold. Just my luck.

I did get a good deal thanks to fishermans paradise. he ended up getting the unit price matched to defenders marine catalog. so the unit ended up being $1999 and got the 3 year warrenty for $199. I got the captains club card or whatever westmarine calls it for free. in having that I end up getting $80 back to spend on other boating stuff within the store. Also they are going to 2nd air it to me when it comes in. so it ended being alittle over $2300.

Since I have so much time on my hands Im going to call westmarine and humminbird everyday until I get it. Hopefully I can lite a fire under someones ass and get this unit very soon. I really dont want to put the boat in and have to have it hauled to put the transducer on it.
