Thumbs up Narr Bay 6/19/07 Report

Sorry for the late report...

Headed out of Allen's Harbor at 0511 for some day off morning fishing. Snagged some pogies at the first pod I found. They were very disturbed and I found out why. I had trouble getting them to the boat without the huge blues tearing them apart. I actually hooked a large mean blue on my snagging line with no leader at all. I got it all the way to the side of the boat and it released itself and I kept my treble. I was glad because I had no gaff or net with me .

Moved up the bay and scouted out around conimicut light with nothing on the finder. Moved to Ohio ledge and then to Colt state park only blues chopping my bait.

Finally gave in to peer pressure and joined the fleet. I decided to skip the livelining and chunked due to the close quarters. First drift, banged a 36" for the fish box. Dropped the line back down again. Went to bleed the fish and it started singing again. Took a 33" on the same drift. Returned that one for another day.

Fished for about 2 more hours and didn't land anymore but had some chases on the live ones. It is nice to see those stripers playing with the live pogies. Commercial guy next to me was chatting and didn't have any bait. I gave him some pogies and he insisted I take money for them. He said he was going to sell the fish so I had to take the money.

Finished the day with one fish, good karma, and $7. Not too bad.

Good Report....Glad to hear there still around this week. I had a few decent fish last weekend but no slobs...i also had to give up on a few spots because of the blues slashing bait and join the fleet for the bass. This was last Saturday though...........Grabbed a 25 inch fluke on the west side of Patience in 30 feet of water on Sunday as well
