VA Beach Hot

Spent this last weekend in VA Beach fishing light tackle for stripers. The fishing there right now is as good as it gets. We mostly fished the bridge tunnel complex, catch and release and caught over 250 stripers on both Sat and Sunday. Now most where in the 20-28" range, but each day we had about 20 over 30" and a few 40+ thrown in. I caught the largest at 45" and 38#. All fish where caught on 10-15# tackle, so we're talking about some great battles.

Both days we ran about 40 miles round trip in the ocean looking for a good ocean bite, but never found them schooled up. We picked a fish here and there out of bait balls, but nothing steady. Hopefully with the cold weather coming the fish in the ocean will school up more and then all h... will break loose. Anyway if you have a trailer and want some of the best fishing of your life now, is the time to head south.
