| Kayaks If you're looking to start kayaking, you should try different yaks before you buy. King Cove Outfitters in Stonington will let you try some, and I'm sure many other places offer the same thing. You can also try a guided fishing trip . YAKDAWGS.com (Roland and Kevin) are a couple of very knowledgeable guys that fish the Stonington/Niantic area. Roland fishes a Hobie and Kevin a Wilderness Systems. They can really educate you on the sport. I have a Wilderness Tarpon160. I'm 6'1, 195#. Great boat. The Tarpon 140 might be better for you. Very stable boat. I can send you pictures of mine if you want. Let me know. Mark G. |
