No Pool winner here with this baby

This certainly was not the pool winner on this trip, but it is nice to see Eric laughing after reeling in from 250 ft. No wonder he liked his wolfie so much.

Cod Trip

Now that's what we are talking about, those are some great looking fish and I want to get out now. We know about the fall fish (top photo) but here is an April cod caught aboard RELENTLESS on Stellwagen Bank. Nice fish on the bottom but the effects of little herring around made this fish a little thin even though it weighed over 40 LBS.

Too far away....but time passes quickly.

That trip with Eric holding that pig was aboard the American Classic, and was a really great day of fishing/catching, with wicked warm weather for late November, 2005.

The other pic with Eric holding the small fry was a a tough one, but Captain Waldrip worked his a$$ off to find us some fish that day, and we faired pretty well in the end.

Captain Walsh always hunts hard for the fish, and, in my opinion, he is one of the top groundfishing captains there is up here.

Should be a good time, regardless.

Now come'on and sign up...

Hooked Expectations

I expect this day to be very good as long as the weather cooperates and allows us to get out, but we need to be positive so early in the planning stages. Currently the commercial guys are doing excellent in Mass Bay due to lots of bait around catching good number of market cod along with some steakers. If the weather pattern that we are currently in continues to hold, I would expect water tempertures to be where we want them. If we get the temps and the bait you can expect some good jig fishing with larger fish hitting the jigs. The guys who soak sea clams will end up with their fair share also and get into some haddock hopefully on the shallow waters (90 -120). Captain Jim will bust his ass to put fish aboard the boat often motor fishing over a pile of finicky eaters. No matter what, for the price and fishing with a good group of guys, meeting new friends from this board, you can't go wrong. So as Brad stated "SIGN UP NOW". Don't wait to see what is going on in April because it will be too late. So give yourself and maybe a friend an early gift and get on board.
