Lake Ontario, Pulaski NY

Fished Lake Ontario with two friends Paul & Victor this past week; Friday August 24 & Saturday August 25. We arrived in Pulaski NY around 11:30 a.m. Friday and proceeded to Fat Nancy's Tackle Shop to get the lake report and support the local economy. The Friday morning report was positive. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the Lake. We launched the boat at the Mexico State Ramp approx. 1:45 p.m. and were fishing around 2:20 p.m. We went 5 for 6 with our biggest fish weighing 25.7 lbs. We fished over 140 feet of water working depths from 60 - 90 feet. Most of our action was on green flasher's (Pro-Troll) with green fly's. We also caught fish using NK's. Saturday was a different day, sloooooooooow. We went 1 for 4; the lake was a zoo with all the boat working the lake. Sunday we did not fish due to 30 mph winds and seas around 5 - 6 feet.

Those are some nice looking salmon you got there, and the seas looked real nice on that day. You always said the weather changes on a dime on the lake and you got proof of that this weekend. By the way as a freshwater know-nothing, what are those marks on the fish Paul is holding? Again great job!

The marks we made by a lamprey eel. The eel was attached when Paul caught the fish; it was approx. 14 inches long. Did I mention that eel's make good seagull food!
