| Shell Fishing Mollusks or Crustaceans...if it's a shell that they have, and you like to catch and eat'em, here's the place to knuckle up. |
What have you got to say about the topic of: "Lobsters". Here's how is started: "Do not know if this would be of interest to anyone, but lobsters have moved "

Do not know if this would be of interest to anyone, but lobsters have moved in very close to shore. Probably the best lobstering since Spring. Here in Southeastern CT, the clamming beds have been closed because of the heavy rains we recently had. Was thinking of having clams for Thanksgiving dinner, but Lobsters are not a bad substitute.

| That would probably be closer to what the original Thanksgiving dinner consisted of. Lobster & Venison… now that's my idea of surf & turf!!! Did you know in early Colonial times, prisoners revolted if they were fed lobster too many times per week and that servants hired to wealthy estates stated in their contracts that they were not to have lobster more than twice a week? Let me know if I can be of assistance, Scup. I hand haul traps in the Basin in Harpswell, Maine for my good friend Al Ruger, who is now 85 years old!!

| Let's not push it, I still have a ways to go before I am 85. Cannot help but think that the Pilgrims must of had oysters and clams for table fare as well. They are so easy to catch. The cove I live on still has a few live oysters living in it yet. It has been closed down for years but until they closed it down, I would grab a handful or so this time of the year. I remember reading somewhere that Boston harbor had quite a decent commerical shellfish industry going until overfishing and pollution won over. I hope all the members of this form and their loved ones have a great holiday feast today.
