dolphin report

Although it was pretty slow yesterday we did get 2 pretty nice fish (20 to 25 pounds) but we had to go past the Islamorada hump to get them. It should be picking up soon.

Bud and Marys

Curt,

I don't remember giving you vacation time in May, actually I wish I was going with you. We will be catching cod and haddock while you have your feet up after a trip sucking down a frosty one with shorts on listening to Buffet. Have fun and don't get too burned up.

Dave

blackfin report

I think you picked a real good time to head this way. The dolphin fishing should be red hot. As for the blackfin, people have been picking up a few at the hump but nothing to really brag about. The wind has been up since Friday when a cold front passed through so no recent reports. I'll give you a local report as we get closer to your trip south.

Last Friday my next door neighbor went out to Floyds wall, almost 30 miles off Islamorada and did really well. He worked a beautiful weed line and got a wahoo and about 15 nice dolfin (20 to 30 pounds). They could have taken as many as they want but decided they had more than enough. They also had a shot at a blue marlin but couldn't get a hook up. The marlin had these big dolphin scattering airborne like a school of bally when a sailfish crashes them.
