Wow Mako, sounds like the fishing is better down there than it is up here in Pompano Beach. I ALWAYS wanted to go south and do some fishing around the keys...*sigh* some day... We have a little event going on up here this weekend called the Saltwater Shootout and another called Dolphin Brawl. We'll see how the catch is, things have been pretty slow unless you head either south around port everglades or go out to the stream. Keep the reports commin! Always good to hear someone is catchin! Tight Lines! Shawn | ||

| Sounds like things are starting to pick up down there.. Has anyone heard any reports from Bimini? Im heading there in two weeks.. I would imagine there must be some dolphin and maybe some marlin around. Some mutton snapper would be great too! | ||

| No Bimini report but we were in West End last Friday/Saturday helping some friends bring their boat back to the states. The handful of boats that went out Friday had some nice mahi but I didn't see any bigger than 30 or so pounds. | ||

| As a follow up to the Bimini info request, until the Bahamas changes their newly enacted fishing limits it is not so attractive for us. You are only allowed 6 pelagis fish per day (if 6 of you are fishing thats 1 mahi each), 20 pounds max for bottom fish (a 30 pound grouper would be illegal), 6 lobsters per boat and no conch. | ||

| Have not been this year and probably will not again until they change those limits. Fishing and lobstering were both great on our last trip there. The lobster were so big that they would not fit through the throat of the lobster bag, and that is not a fish story. | ||

| Good luck. But I am afraid that the winds are not going to be good for you. It's blowing over 20 knots in Bimini now and it's not projected to go below that until well into next week. I hope my forcast is wrong. Here in Islamorada the wind came up Sunday morning (25 knots) and it is not going to go down until next Monday. | ||
