Last night, I posted a reply concerning the deficiencies of circle/Octopus hooks as viewed through the eyes of a commercial fisherman. My response was made because of a direct request from a member. It was not a flattering response to those make these hooks and even a more terse response to those who wish to have legislature passed banning the use of conventional hooks. My response, which took over two hours to prepare, is now apparently lost somewhere in hyperspace. My response was never posted. The purpose of this thread is to determine why my response was not posted. If it was a computer glitch, well, I guess I will have to try and rack my brain and do it all over again. If it was because I did not navigate this site correctly, then I would appreciate help to correct my error and to thus avoid making this type of error in the future. If it was because the NBS staff feels that an open discussion concerning these hooks is just too controversial subject right now, I will take my leave from this website, never to return. If it was because I had mentioned Terminal Tackle and quoted one or two of their catalog prices to make a point, then this reference can be removed. I have no affiliation with Terminal Tackle whatsoever, but they seem to have attributes for a mail order house that have always been very favorable to my needs. I use them to set the standards of quality and pricing for which I need know in order to go about my business. Commercial fisherman have to be very cost conscious, and the cost to bring fish to market is as much a part of their lives as catching the fish themselves. Should NBS not care for this particular reference, then pick one of your choice and we can go with what you approve of. | ||

| Is this the reply you're referring to? http://www.nbssportfishing.com/vBfor...5476#post35476 I am able to see your reply. No one to my knowledge moved or changed the reply. Try opening the thread and hitting f5 key to refresh that page. I'm thinking perhaps you're viewing the page from your cache but not sure. Let us know if that's the post you're looking for. Bob

| Scup, You did NOTHING wrong at all, my apologies. Your post caught caught up in the spam prevention routine (which places posts in a "moderation" queue, that only the admin can address, yet our moderators can see it), due to a combination of words found in the post. Normally, I would have caught it quickly and approved the post, but I had a tough time with internet connectivity at the camper this past weekend. I understand the frustration on your behalf, but mistakes do happen. Again, you did nothing wrong in any way. I'll be relooking at the filter to see why it this post was caught up. I have also corrected a few discrepancies in the code routine so as to hopefully make this smoother in the future. I have also made a correction which now allows all moderators to be able and review these as well. | ||
