Hooked Which hook?

This year we switched out all of our 3/0 Kahle hooks, on our fluke rigs, to 4/0 stainless offset. Have had no problems with fish swallowing the larger hooks and no issue with the hook being too large.
Curious what everyone is using?

Honestly, I have used all different types and sizes......

Kahle, regular J's, Gammys.......

I have had more issues in the past with hooks being too small/weak than being too large, tho. Some of the smaller hooks just are too thin, and get destroyed the minute you try to unhook the fish. When they are that weak, I worry about getting a good hookup.

Large fluke have no issues swallowing a large hook

I like to switch baits and lures often when fluking and don't stick to one type of hook. For fishing with live bait like Killies I like to use the Kahle hook with no skirt and generally do this when the tide is slower, i feel it gives the bait better movement. Fishing with a skirted rig I lean more towards a long shank J with a squid strip, I like this when the tide is moving fast more of a straight presentation.

Eagle Claw 043SS in 3/0 to 5/0 sizes. The 043SS is a stainless steel wide bend with a slight offset. It is much stronger than any Kahle hook out there. I make my own fluke rigs and have tried a lot of different hooks and these are by far my favorites....

I like the wide gap of the standard Kahle hook for fluke but the thin gold wire, as mentioned in some posts just doesn't make it last. The ss are much thicker and I've not had one bend. The 5/0 I've not seen here locally but would be a great hook to live-line snapper blues, for fluke. Did you find them in the area or online?
Thanks all.

My mistake...I just checked the boxes and I have 3/0 and 4/0 sizes. I think 4/0 is the largest availble in that style. I ordered them online from catfishconnection. These hooks don't get mangled like the Kahle hooks. The 4/0 should suffice for live lining snappers with a lip hook. They are a really strong hook....
