| Information 'bout Fishing ...no reports...Got a fishing tidbit that doesn't look like it fits elsewhere, drop it here. |
What have you got to say about the topic of: "OK, the TOGGIES ARE SAFER! Inheritance was pulled today……..LOL (PICS)". Here's how is started: "Sad day, as usual………..but has to happen every year. Frank from Bay View pulled Inheritance. "

Sad day, as usual………..but has to happen every year. Frank from Bay View pulled Inheritance. ![]() We dug all the stands out from behind my shed at 0630, along with the blocks, plywood, etc……then headed to Allen Harbor for a 0730 pull. Foggy as hell! Pulled all the docklines and the washdown hose. Washed off the stern storage box, where a seagull or 2 appeared to have their way with a fish carcass (no idea where they might have found one of those near THIS boat LOL). ![]() Frank showed up at the ramp, and smooth as silk, as usual, he had us out. Heads hanging, we follow her up and give her a once-over quick inspection. Signs of my new daughter (August 17th) showed this year. More barnacles than usual, and a bit more crap in general. That “~ month off” in August/early Sept gave this shit some teeth, unfortunately. Of course, Cappy Clif (dad) took advantage of my "down time" and screwed out to the west coast with mom for 2 weeks LOL. That combined with wind, caused the ~ month of no use! ![]() We followed Frank on our sad parade back to my residence, where she will be pickled and wrapped until next Spring. Frank knows the resting place so well, he backed her in so the stands fell right on the brown crabgrass that took over where the plywood was last year LOL! An important side note: If you need a boat hauled, Frank is the SHIT! He knows this business like NOBODY does. Attention to detail????? He can carry on a conversation with you and, as if he has a separate brain doing the work, watches, calculates, directs his helper…..all without missing a beat LOL! No BS! Seriously, he is the best in the business! Personable, PROFESSIONAL, meticulous! Pays attention to where he locates stands (checks for interior bulkheads/supports first, etc etc) and pays attention to things such as positive slope for drainage, level…you name it. No worries. And he does them all! Look at the sweet rig! Inheritance looks like a dinghy on this thing LOL! ![]() BAYVIEW BOAT HAULERS – 401-738-4646 – FRANK So, I break out my full Grundens and pressure washer, and go to town cleaning her (check out the before and after…..you won’t get THIS result at ANY boatyard!) Not a barnacle left attached, not a streak of crap anywhere! Ready for paint in the spring, no sanding! ![]() Anyhow, tomorrow, we pickle her. My neighbor 3 houses down stopped by today and told me he actually picked up the same boat (different power and options), a year newer (’96) this September. He’s going to come over and watch how we winterize, so he can do his in a week or so. It’ll save him a bunch of dinero $$$$.

| Eric, as seaworm1 said "its a sad day". As you get older, the sadness gets worse. I just have to pull a little thing so I can gamble with the weather somewhat, but while I always plan to pull in early November, it usually ends up being late November or early December. I would have pulled it a week ago, but after reading your reports I decided not pull her until ice forms on my cove (which has already happened this year.) It would not be the first time I would have gotten caught in a cold snap, the cove freezes over, and it becomes impossible to reach the launching ramp. The only thing left to do is push her ashore somewhere where it is flat and jack her up onto some planks supported by cement blocks till Spring. As long as this Indian Summer holds out, I will be trying to stretch this season for all it is worth. Thanks for your great reports this year, and do not stop now as winter tends to real boring for me and I like reading your reports even in the off season.
