Thinking about a vacation???

Finally got the stuff together, and officially open for business down in beautiful Xcalak, Mexico.

Check out the website here www.casadesuenosxcalak.com

I am offering any NBS member looking to get away to an incredible destination a great discount. Take 25% off any room per night, for as long as you stay. Be sure to check out the area information page on my website for some great links to all the details on this area of the globe.

The place is paradise, the fishing is world class, and best of all the wife or family can come along(or stay at home). This is a very affordable vacation, and plenty to do while visiting. Learn more about this area also here: http://www.xcalak.info

Hi John,

The inside fishing within the reef and the extensive flats and lagoon systems is primarily for the grand slam. Tarpon, Permit, and Bonefish. There are also tons of jacks, snook, and cudas along with snappers in the mangroves. The winter months dont get too many wind opportunities to get offshore, but when they do, tuna, wahoo, and dorado are the main catch, with occasional marlin. Inshore fishing is usually the best bet in winter, as the trade winds blow right in from the ocean and across the reef pretty hard from Nov. through March.

The reef fishing there is incredible as well, big cubera snapper, spanish and cero macks, and grouper all live there and see very little pressure.

The best part about the area is how untouched everything is. Because it is a bit more difficult to get to than the Cancun areas, it has that unspoiled, private feel to it. You can make a few day trips to other spots from Xcalak, Lake Bacalar being one of my favorite, about an hour and a half away.

Definitely looks like a paradise to me.

Either way, I'll get there sometime. Maybe on a Cancun trip (wife, I and kids going in April, hopefully), we could take a few day excursion after we're done on the strip.
