Congressman Joe Courtney held a press conference with Connecticut lobstermen to mark a victory in the fight against a proposed five-year ban on lobstering. The Fisheries Commission ordered a new study on lobster populations on Thursday.

My family was in attendance at the meeting and were able to speak. Here's a link to a Philadelphia Pa newspaper article about the family.

I have a ten pot lic. and cant believe the ban they wanted. How convenient that Maine was not included. This year has been a banner year for lobster. Everyone I talk to say there catch is up. This has been my best year in the last five. Yes last year and the year before were brutal but there back in great numbers just as the Government is talking about a ban. Just shows how little they know about what really going on out there.
