Thank you for the info. I guess the trick with Barn Island is getting there early! Any time after nine and all the spots get filled up. People with cars take the trailer spots, it's a joke. That doesn't fly in RI, no trailer = towed or ticketed, period....

I know of a very small, little known launching spot. It is not a good launching area as it is gravel, very low slope to the water and there are rocks to the North of the area. It is located on Quiambog Cove. I launch there every spring and it is fine if you have a 16 foot ride and it is high tide. A similar type of launching location is located on the west bank of the Mystic River just under 95. Allen at Shafers on Mason's Island used to change a nomonial fee to launch your boat there. The trouble with a lot of these woe-be-gone launching places that are not attended is you never know when you get back if your stuff will still be there. The reason Barn Island is safe is it is a well designed ramp, and there are always people (or ass holes) around so while it is very popular it can be a pain. If I had to launch my ride every time I went fishing I would throw the towel in. Sorry I could not be of more use to you.
