    Toggin Tough

Cold and breezy morning turned awesome Nov day. Tried here, there, everywhere for zip! Joined a few boats at a spot we never fished before (a friend tipped me about it) and picked up 5 nice keepers that saved the day. On greenies in 12 - 15 feet. Water temp mid to low 50's. Out of Branford, CT. Bass are GOOOONNNNNE!

Glad you found a spot to save the day!
We fished Clinton and got NADA on Saturday.
One or two other spots I still want to try.
Still trying to figure where they've gone since the storm....
not in usual haunts in my area now.

It's become hunting more than toggin. You have to move, move, move. Try rocks, humps, reefs you never fished before. You hit 'em at a spot but the bite lasts only 45 minutes. From an earlier era when my Dad and I would fill a burlap sack with 100 lbs of togs to today when I talked with 4 guys who were happy with 8 keepers. The tog fishery IS IN TROUBLE!!!!

Yup.....so is fluke, cod, scup, seabass, squeteague, tuna, shark, bass.....LOL

All are WAAAAAYYYYYY far depleted from what I have known.......and I'm only 32! (Yet I've been fishing since I could stand up on 2 feet LOL)

It's a sad state of affairs.....
