    Where or what conditions would you use a bimini twist?
    Seems a knot for very specific conditions.

    Bob,
    I?ve seen wind on leaders used for shark and sword fishing rigs that use a bimini twist on the main line to attach the wind-on leader via an offshore loop connection and/or use a larger loop in the twist to generate a 10? long section of doubled main line in the leader system. The wind on leaders are attractive as they incorporate a much longer section of leader material and minimize the need for the leaderman to have to hand wrap the leader.
